AJZ Engineering modernises oncology clinic in Moscow

The internationally recognised Oncology Research Centre N.N. Blochin is one of the most important centres for research and treatment of oncological diseases in the Russian Federation.
50 years after its foundation, AJZ Engineering was appointed as the primary contractor for modernisation of the whole surgical centre plus the equipment of various diagnostic departments with medical and laboratory technology.
The reconstruction and modernisation of the 22 operating theatres took place in two building phases, to ensure no interruption to operations was caused. The central sterilisation unit and the department for bone marrow transplant were modernised and equipped with state of the art technology at the same time. To take account of international standards, the departments required complete refurbishment.
More than 30 sub-contractors from Germany, the EU and Russia had to be coordinated by AJZ Engineering over the three-year implementation period.
The project was completed with the installation of a complex clinic information and management system, based on German/Russian software developed specifically for this purpose, plus instruction of the personnel.
