AJ Blomesystem GmbH (AJB) is an integral component of the company group Analytik Jena AG. We have specialised in developing and providing software and services for laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

With nearly 20 years of success, which in this area is a small eternity, the AJB has taken over a dominant market position in the area of LIMS systems (laboratory information management systems). With more than 15,000 licensed LIMS users in the German speaking area alone, the AJB is no doubt the most successful company in this market segment.

A clear division between LIMS and other software applications in the various company areas practically doesn?t exist any more today. Since the introduction of systems based on client/server technology, customers from the most varying industries have used blomesystem^® to present their workflow organization. The areas where blomesystem^® has mainly been implemented include quality control/quality assurance, production planning, research and development, formulations administration or also document management.

However, blomesystem^® has also been very successfully implemented in the area of control agencies and order laboratories, which is demonstrated by the high number of installations in this this area. blomesystem^® has even been implemented in parts of criminal technique for the implementation of a very specialised system.

Through the advantageous combination of founded chemical or analytical knowledge of the staff with the implementation of object oriented software tools, very demanding applications for the areas named above can be developed keeping within the given time and cost frame of the client.

As all database tables, masks, reports and functions were created with the object oriented blomesystem^® Designer, no changes or expansions to the quell code are required. Through this unique programming and configuration tool, all programme customizations are easily maintained and remain functional without restrictions after product updates.

All structure and data of an individually configured application stays accessable for the customer after change in technology. Our first LIMS customers from the early 80s which started on a DOS based system migrated to the Windows world in the early 90s without a loss of data. The later migration to the 32 Bit Windows environment was likewise smooth.

The AJB development department is currently preparing itself for the next technology change which will include distributed web services in the near future. A decision for blomesystem will ensure that the customer is always up to date with technology, which guarantees you use of the application over many years covering also new company system versions.

AJB is always evaluated as excellent in customer questionnaires which is not only based on the QM system (DIN ISO 9001 certified) implemented in all company areas. The evaluations particularly point out the user friendliness of blomesystem^® which sets notable standards with in relation to speed and quality, even during very complex database applications.
